Poundland

I saw this book in a charity shop the other day, made me laugh.

I was in the 99p Store the other day and I heard a guy say "I like it in here, it's better than Poundland, Poundlands fucking shit" That made me laugh too.

Memoirs of a Mangy Lover

I fancied a couple of laughs this morning so I picked up a Groucho Marx book which I read last year, I found this scrap of paper inside.

I have completed a few new strips over the last couple of weeks, I'll post some panels here soon...Oh yeah, I have decided to print up some copies of a book I made a couple of years back called Ed Bennett. Ed Bennett was part of an installation I made for my degree show,.. ummm basically I found this blokes ID card (I've lost it now) and tried to find out as much info on him as possible. I found out bits and bobs but in the end just ended using his name and face for a character in the book, which was placed in a recreation of his front room(part of it anyway).
This is him.

This is the book, which was french folded, within the folds were hidden images which were clues for later parts of the story. The cover was beaten up and covered in beer and tea stains.

Unfortunately this book went missing along with some other work of mine. Shame.

Bringing up old stuff

I was saying the other day how I don't draw in sketchbooks enough any more (which is silly), I spend my time thinking, drawing real rough story boards then finals.. anyway I was looking through some old books and found these... they made me laugh for a couple of seconds.

They are from 2007, I think.

Alan Gow goes Loco

Only a couple of pages left to draw and the first Isobel White Comic will be done (b/w 24pages), but I will probably wait until Thought Bubble in November to sell them.

These are from some shitty one page strip I done a couple of weeks ago, maybe it'll go in Paunch 5... see that vertical line in the top panel, that's my favourite thing about my work (it appears a lot), I shrink my work on the copiers at staples, hopefully they don't clean the rollers or whatever.

Recently I have been drawing a strip about my friends and me at atp, in 2003, when we were teenagers. It's fun when your a teen, drawing about myself now is boring.

Black Gold is probably the leading card company that makes greeting cards for brothers and sisters, but i'm partial to Big Up Designs(the ones with shit paintings of black celebs on them, like Will Smith, LL Cool J etc) and these beauties by Unity Cards.

Making auto bio comics is boring. I started the second (and final, yes!) part of Up a Blind Alley ages ago, but I have hardly done any work on it because other more exciting projects have come up. Anyway I plan to crack on with it again in a couple of weeks, when I have finished some other stuff. Hopefully it'll be done by November.

I saw this on the High Street, on Saturday morning. I wonder who said what to who about who or what. Later in the day I saw a dead crow, I thought is was an umbrella at first.

Also I have no comics in print right now...I will be printing some old stuff up again soon, plus will have a couple, maybe a few new books out by the end of the summer...you'll be able to buy them here.
